Selection
Selection is done by the selection committee as per the norms prescribed by University and Government of Kerala.

Eligibility for admission
Candidates who have passed the Pre Degree examination of any of the universities in Kerala with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects or any examination recognized as equivalent by Mahatma Gandhi University with 50% aggregate marks for optional subjects.
Criteria for selection
Admission is on Merit basis and is subject to rules of reservation prescribed by the Govt. of Kerala.
Syllabus
As prescribed by the Kerala University of Health Sciences for Basic B.Sc. Nursing course.
Teaching system
Teaching block system (full block and partial block) will be followed as per curriculum requirements. Clinical experience with adequate supervision will be provided both in hospital and community. A minimum of 80% attendance in theory and 100 % in practical is mandatory to appear for the examinations.
College timings
During study block – 8 am to 5 pm with one hour lunch break.
During partial block – 7.30 am to 12. 30pm in the clinics and 1.30pm to 4.30 pm theory classes.
Library
College owns a library equipped with recent books and journals in Nursing and related subjects. Separate policies are established regarding the use of Library by Library Committee. Students are encouraged to utilize the facilities.
Uniform
Students should wear prescribed uniform always when they enter the clinical area. Hair should be put up and no ornaments are allowed except small ear rings.
Only sari or Salwar / Churidar kameez is allowed in the college.
Evaluation
Continuous evaluation of the students is important for their personal & professional development. This is done by the concerned teachers and discussed with students and parents.
Minimum of three sessional exams and one model examination will be conducted by the college both in theory and practicals. Performance in the clinical area will be evaluated based on evaluation Proforma prepared for each subject. Progress report will be maintained for each student and send to parents. Pass in internal examination is a must to appear the university examination
University examinations are held every year. Those who fails in the regular exams gets opportunity to write the supplementary exams.
Permanent register will be kept regarding student’s academic activities and performance in examinations.

Eligibility for admission
· The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.
· The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of regular degree course in Nursing (B Sc. Nursing / B Sc. (Hons) Nursing / Post Basic B Sc. Nursing), with minimum of 55% aggregate marks, in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council. · Minimum one year of experience after Basic B Sc. Nursing. One year compulsory nursing service/internship after successful completion of four year B Sc Nursing can be considered as experience. · Minimum one year of experience prior or after regular Post Basic B Sc. Nursing. · Candidate shall be medically fit. |
